Thanks to all who gave me the opportunity to read (albeit with some emotion) my Apollo 11 poem REFLECTIONS at the 40th anniversary celebrations in Canberra on the 21st July 2009.

It is a now a privilege to have it on Colin Mackellar’s website. I would sincerely like to thank Colin Mackellar for being my main checker and confidant, Patrick Healean (Questacon) my favourite astronaut, Hamish Lindsay for some historical facts and Bryan Sullivan and Jackie French for being able to use some of the info from their book “To the Moon and back”.

Buzz amid the kangaroos

John Saxon suggested making an updated version of Tony Pelling’s classic Honeysuckle image. He wanted a version where you had to look twice to see the kangaroos. It was used on the placemats for the 40th anniversary lunch.
